Sarah Revilla

 Sarah Revilla, 76, of Lubbock, TX passed away peacefully from this life on July 25, 2023 after battling a lengthy illness.

Sarah was born on March 13, 1947, to Raymond and Louise Castro in Brady, TX. She was the eldest of 10 children. She graduated from Anton High School in 1966 and married the love of her life David Revilla Sr. on February 25, 1967. Sarah worked most of her career in public food service at New Deal ISD and Frenship ISD. She was a kind-hearted soul and greeted everyone she met with a smile.

Sarah was a lifelong Catholic and a great woman of faith. She was a selfless person who put the concerns and needs of others before herself. She would stand at her front door and say a prayer of safety over visitors as they left her house.

Her favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends. She especially loved having her grandchildren over to her house for sleepovers, making Grandma’s special pancakes, “treasure hunts”, and crafting together.

Sarah is survived by her husband David Revilla, Sr. Her son Mark Revilla of Lubbock, daughter Rita Alvarado of Lubbock, and son David Revilla, Jr. (Jaime) of Abernathy, her grandchildren: Louis and Filip Alvarado of Lubbock, Jesi Revilla of Lubbock, and Alexis, Jake, Avery, and Emma Revilla of Abernathy.

Sarah was also survived by her siblings: Dolores Harper (Sam) of Lubbock, Raymond Castro, Jr. of Lubbock, Peggy Flores (Ismael) of Lubbock, Teresa Denny (Tom) of Towanda, PA, Jeff Castro (Carol) of Houston, TX, and Mary Pearce (Eddie) of Mill Hall, PA. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Sarah was preceded in death by her infant daughter Bernadette Revilla, her parents Raymond and Louise Castro, and her brothers Larry, George, and Steven Castro.

Sarah was loved by all who knew her and will be remembered and dearly missed.

Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-9:00pm on Friday, July 28th, 2023 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00pm

Funeral Mass will be held at 8:30am on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
