Rosa Hernandez

Rosa Nunez Hernandez, 74, passed from this life on October 3, 2023, in Lubbock, TX. She was the wife of Benjamin Hernandez. They Married on December 19, 1972, in Lubbock, TX, and shared 40 years together. She was born on October 22, 1948, in Big Spring, TX to Juan and Isabelle Garza. She was a stay-at-home mom with eight sons and one daughter. She enjoyed hanging out with her children and sisters, playing bingo, watching scary movies, shopping, and resale. She will be remembered for her strength, laughter, kindness, and her great cooking. She is survived by seven sons, Chris, Anthony, Eric (April), Ben, Rocky (Erin), Danny (Jennifer), and Gabriel (Elizabeth); and one daughter, Alexi; her sisters, Sophie Rios, Bertha Ramirez, Janie Gonzales, Lupe Hernandez, Julie Garza, Margie Garza, and Liz Lucio. She is preceded in death by her parents; Juan and Isabelle Garza; husband, Benjamin Hernandez; son, Darin Hernandez; and brother, Alex Garza. Visitation will be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on Tuesday, October 10, from 3-9pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 11, at 10am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Deacon Joe Morin presiding. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery.
