Ricardo Adelino Duran

Ricardo Adelino Duran passed from this life on March 8, 2023 surrounded by family.  He was born March 29, 1970 in Muleshoe, TX to Adelino Duran and Julia Duran. He shared 16 years with his partner Selena Lummus.  Ricardo worked as a meat cutter at Lowe’s Supermarket and was a member of several meat and butcher groups on Facebook.  He was very popular, had many friends, and connected with people all over the world.  He enjoyed wood burning and was an avid reader who collected many books.  Although he was shy and quiet, Ricardo’s loving personality and good sense of humor made him a natural entertainer once he got to know someone. He had an excellent work ethic and was loyal and strong.  Ricardo enjoyed listening to music from classic rock to heavy metal. 

Ricardo is survived by his partner Selena Lummus, his sons William Duran Lummus and Richard Lummus, his mother Julia D. Prueitt, his sisters Elisa D. Combs, Lia Duran, and Celia Duran (Adam Caudillo), and his nieces and nephews Angel J. Jimenez, Isaac N. Duran, Zavious J. Jimenez, Julia Lopez, Max Lopez, Natalia Lopez ,Jayden Lopez, Maximino Lopez, Rebecca Lopez, Jacob Caudillo, Lanna Oliveira, Adam Caudillo III, Katie Klesel, Araceli Caudillo, Adam Caudillo IV, Estella Caudillo, and Gregorio Caudillo. He is preceded in death by Adelino Duran (Pops), his brother Greg Duran, his nephew Joshua D. Jimenez, and his grandparents Margarito and Josefhina, Daria Rosales, and Ricardo Torres.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held Sunday, March 12 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.
