Our beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Pedro G. Covarrubio entered the arms of our Lord on December 23, 2021, at the age of 86. He was born August 1, 1935, in Cameron, TX to Antonio and Patrinila Covarrubio. On February 9, 1996, he married Vicenta, and they shared 25 years together. He attended Frenship High School and was retired from landscaping. Pedro was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He proudly served the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1960. He loved playing pool and working in his garden. He will be remembered for being the rock of his family, a loving husband, and a companion to his little dog, Tres.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Vicenta, his sons Pedro Covarrubio, Jr. and George Covarrubio of Fresno, CA; his daughters Petra Gonzales, Gracie Covarrubio of Fresno, CA, and Irma Covarrubio of Duncanville, TX; his brothers Joe Covarrubio of Gainesville, GA and Daniel Covarrubio of Lubbock, TX; his sisters Maria Flores and Juanita Garcia of Lubbock; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Patrinila Covarrubio, his brothers Jesse, John, Steve, and Lupe Covarrubio, and his sister Jovita Trevino.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 29 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 7:00.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
The family extends many thanks to the High Plains Senior Care Hospice nurses Heather and Kara and to Chaplain Kirk Kitchens for all their support and care.
