Maxine Sullivan Obituary

Maxine Gail Sullivan, age 82 passed from this life on April 17, 2023, at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, Houston, TX. She was born April 4, 1941, in Cumberland, Maryland, to Alda Frances (Morgret) Smith and James Emory Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenner E. Sullivan. They were married August 16, 1985, in Springwoods United Methodist Church, Houston, TX, and shared 18 years together.
As a mother and grandmother, she had a fierce love for her family. With a heart full of compassion for others suffering, she was a supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project, AMVETS National Service Foundation, patriarchal member of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, and member of the Guardians of Israel. She loved her God, country, family, and crafting.
She graduated from Bedford High School, Bedford, PA, in 1959. She was employed as a Department Manager in upscale retail clothing, bank teller, and homemaker.
She is survived by her son, David J. Ferguson, Houston, TX; daughters Linda C. (Ferguson) Carbone and her husband, Joseph, Effort, PA; and Charlotte D. (Ferguson) Ballard-Small and her husband, Scott, San Antonio, TX; grandsons David Ferguson, Orlando, FL; and Antonio J. Carbone and Giuseppe A. Carbone both of Effort, PA; granddaughters Samantha (Ferguson) Serrano and her husband, Josh, Orlando, FL; and Angelina (Carbone) Kotara and her husband, Mark, Easton, PA; and Caroline (Ballard) Jackson and her husband, Cole, San Antonio, TX, as well as 2 great grandchildren, Luke Kotara and Sophia Serrano.
A funeral service will be conducted at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, 407 N. University Avenue, Lubbock, TX, on Saturday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. with Deacon Joe Morin presiding.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Cemetery 5740 W. 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas.
