Mary Aguilar Obituary

Mary Julia Aguilar, 83, went to be with our Lord on October 27, 2020 at her home in Lubbock, Texas. Julia was married for 62 years to the love of her life, Marcelo Aguilar. She was born in Lampasas, Texas to Manuel and Lucy Delgado Maldonado.

Julia graduated from Lampasas High School in 1956. She was an LVN for over 30 years and worked in labor/delivery and nursery for West Texas Hospital until closed. She loved being a nurse and saw many babies born.

She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lubbock and was a Guadalupana. Mary loved to work crossword puzzles, cook for her family, and never met a stranger.

Mary is survived by her husband Marcelo. She is survived by three daughters and four sons. Mrs. Christina (Danny) Gomez of Littlefield, Texas; Elena Aguilar of the home; Mrs. Julie Marie (Robert) Rojo of Irving, Texas; Gerardo (Maria) Aguilar of Lampasas, Texas; Francisco (Virginia) Aguilar, Antonio (Jamaica) Aguilar, and Jose Marcelo (Jessica) Jr., all of Lubbock; daughter-in-law Yolanda (Joe) Aguilar and special “daughter” Chen Chi Yei Hsieh; twenty grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Genoveva DeLaCruz of Lampasas, Texas and Mrs. Matilda (Robert) Morales of Georgetown, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Julia is preceded in death by her parents; a brother Cipriano Aguirre; a son, Joe Manuel Aguilar; two grandchildren, Alejandro Aguilar and Julia M. Aguilar; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and on Sunday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.

Rosary will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 7:00pm at Saint Joseph Catholic Church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Reverend Raymundo Manriquez officiating with Deacon Santos assisting. Burial will be at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Joe Manuel Aguilar, Jr., Daniel Marcos Gomez, Alejandro Jose Gomez, Gerardo Javier Aguilar, Javon Alberto Aguilar, and Jacob Aguilar. Honorary Pallbearers, Daniel Scott Aguilar, Zachary Paul Aguilar, Justin Velasquez, Shao-Lon Yei, and Shao-Min Yei.

Arrangements are under the personal care of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
