Jineva Barboza Vasquez went to her eternal home September 3, 2021, at the age of 90. She was born January 3, 1931, in Maxwell, TX to Brigido and Mercedes Barboza. In 1958 she married Manuel Vasquez and they shared 63 years together. Jineva was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church who enjoyed planting roses and other flowers, going to bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved dancing and cooking for her family. She will be remembered for her work ethic, cleanliness, making people laugh, her love for others, her great smile, and her loving arms.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Manuel Vasquez; her son, Manuel Vasquez, Jr.; her grandchildren April Vasquez, and Mikey Vasquez, Chris Vasquez, Christina Vasquez, James Vasquez, Mandy Vasquez, Richard Vasquez; her great-grandchildren, Legend Vasquez, Alejandro Vasquez, Zoie Vasquez; and numerous more grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Elena Vasquez, her parents Brigido and Mercedes Barboza, and numerous brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 7 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 7:00 that evening at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Father Rudolf Crasta officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
