Janie (Juanita) Guerra

Janie R. Guerra,70 passed from this life on October 31, 2023, in Lubbock, TX. She was the wife of Joe Guerra. They Married on February 18,1978 in Plainview, TX and shared 34 years together. She was born June 18, 1953, in Lubbock, TX to Gumecindo and Ramona Rivera. She was a stay-at-home Mom and was a babysitter for numerous of family members and friends. She was often referred to as "Nana". She was a member of St Patrick Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with all her family, playing bingo and she especially enjoyed watching her Texas Tech Red Raiders and Dallas Cowboys play football. She will be remembered for always being the rock of our family. She was the best cook in whatever she made. She was very outspoken and was not afraid to speak her mind. But everyone loved her crazy attitude.

She is survived by two sons, Joe Guerra (Melinda), Randy Guerra and one daughter Erica Guerra (Mike) She had 13 grandchildren Christopher, Leandra(Michael), Zariah, Ryan(Belle), Makayla, Maygan, Anthony,Ariel, Trinity, Avril,Michael,Angelo and Mandi. 6 great grandchildren Zeplynn, Aralyn,Grayson, Oliver,Everleigh, Eian. She had 3 sisters Cecilia,Frances and Dolores and 3 brothers Richard,Antonio and Roy. She also had numerous of Nieces and Nephews that she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by Her parents Gumecindo and Ramona Rivera. Husband Joe Guerra, Son Rudy Rivera. Brothers Gilbert, Robert, Benny, Chayo and Duke. One sister Dora. Sister in Laws Linda, Felipa, Velma and one Brother in law Johnny Gonzalez

Visitation will be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on Sunday November 5, from 3-9 with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday November 6 at 2:00 at St Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Dr. Joseph Thanavelil. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery.
