Herminia Gonzales

Herminia "Minnie" Gonzales passed from this life on April 12, 2023 from her home in Slaton, TX at the age of 92. She was born December 31, 1930 in San Marcos, Texas and attended a boarding academy for girls as a child. She was married to Fernando Gonzales for 20 years. Minnie was employed at Texas Tech University and Quality Cleaners. She was a member of Maranatha Church of the Living God. She enjoyed drinking coffee in the mornings, singing, and praising the Lord. She loved God and church fellowship. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones. She wanted everyone to be respectful and humble. Minnie will be remembered for always showing love and being kind. She truly was a person who cared about giving unconditionally. As a child she worked as a field worker in west Texas, and was raised by her grandmother Macrina Guerrero Torres, her uncles Valeriano, Rute, Adon and Eliseo, and her aunts Antonia, Eloisa, and Domitilla. Because of them she never lacked love.
Minnie is survived by her daughter Emma Gonzales Cano of Lubbock, her son and daughter-in-law F.L. and Oralia of Lubbock, and Nelda Gonzales and Jerry Gonzales of Slaton, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Marcos Sanchez and Eloisa Torres, her husband Fernando Gonzales, her brother Joe Solis, and her sisters Amalia Garcia, Josefina Arias, Angelita Garza, and her grandchild Leonela Gonzales.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM on Monday, April 17 at Maranatha Church of the Living God 4313 Ave D, Lubbock, TX 79404, with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 18 at Maranatha Church of the Living God 4313 Ave D, Lubbock, TX 79404.
Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow, Texas.
