Gabriel Sanchez

Gabriel Sanchez passed from this life on March 10, 2023 at the age of 72. He was born July 7, 1950 in Rio Grand City to Vicenta and Gregorio Sanchez. On March 12,1968 he married Estella Sanchez, and they shared 34 years together until she preceded him in death. Gabriel proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Army where he received National Defense and Vietnam Service medals for his heroic efforts. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Gabriel enjoyed fishing, playing slots, having barbecues, watching old cowboy movies and football games, and spending time with his family.
Gabriel is survived by his brother Armando Sanchez (Marie), his sisters Teresa Sanchez and Alice Arguello, his children Melinda Sanchez Morales (Tim), Lisa Vasquez (Javier), and Jennifer Lara, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and his life long companion Beatrice Salas. He is preceded in death by his wife Estella, his parents Vicenta and Gregorio Sanchez, and his brothers Jerry, Oscar, and Joe Sanchez.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels 407 N. University Lubbock, TX with interment to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 15 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 7:00.
