Elizabeth D. "Chavela" Prado went home to Jesus on January 1, 2023 at the age of 57. She was born April 9, 1965 in Lubbock, Texas to Juan and Lydia Prado. Elizabeth was the wife of Richard Trevino for over 14 years. They met when Elizabeth was 14 years old, found each other again in 2008, and have been together since. She was a dedicated employee working for a Texas Tech Hospitality at Sam's Place West as a manager for 15 years. Elizabeth was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved traveling each year for her birthday. She enjoyed making crafts, watching football, and spent endless hours working on her yard. She was proud of her garden and loved her plants. She loved a fresh start. She rearranged her home and was remodeling her house. Her bathroom was styled with different decorations each time we visited. She kept everything that held a memory. Totes full of shower curtains, blankets, and sheets. She had purses inside of purses, old hats inside of bags. Everything meant something to her. Elizabeth loved her family more than anything. She loved her grandchildren, loved spending time with them, and did everything for them. She was happy, joyful, and vivacious. She loved life. She was funny, fun, outspoken, and spoke the truth.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband Richard Trevino, her children Crystal Prado, Richard Benitez Jr., Kisha Benitez, Tiffany Prado-Benitez, Matthew Benitez; her stepdaughter Valerie Trevino; her sister Angie O'Loughlin; her brothers Ben Flores, Tony, Johnny, and Roy Prado; her 14 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Juan and Lydia Prado and her brother Bobby Prado.
Until we meet again...
Those special memories of you will always bring a smile, if only I could have you back for just a little while, then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do. You always meant so very much and always will too. The fact that you're no longer here will always cause me pain, but you're forever in my heart until we meet again.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, January 14 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
