Cordia LeAnn Johnston Gaona

Cordia LeAnn Johnston Gaona passed from this life on June 25, 2023 at the age of 55. She was born July 7, 1967 in Slaton, TX to Bryan Clay and Llawana Johnston and graduated from Southland I.S.D. She shared 34 years with her husband Juan Gaona and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed preparing holiday meals, photography, and shopping. LeAnn will be remembered for her wit, sense of humor, kind heart, beautiful eyes, and generosity. She was self-employed as a hairdresser and a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by her late husbands children Justin Gaona and Stacy Acevedo, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her siblings Roy Johnston, Bryan Johnston, Laura Bradley, Sandra Ryan, and James Johnston, and her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Juan, her parents, her sister Penny, her brother J.B. and her twin sister Carol DeAnn who she fondly referred to as Sprout or Twinkie, her nephews Michael and Matt, and her niece Llawana.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 1 at 3:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with interment to follow at Southland Resthaven Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 30 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
