Consuelo Singleterry, age 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 14, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was the wife of David Singleterry. They were married in January 1973 in Lubbock TX and shared 50 years together. She was born June 8, 1944, in Hempstead TX to Jose Ramirez and Antonia Ramirez. She was employed at Methodist Hospital and was a caregiver to her mother. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of Slaton TX. She enjoyed music, singing, painting, cooking, gardening, puzzles, but most importantly, she loved being with family. Consuelo is survived by her husband, David Singleterry; sisters Mary Flores and Margarita Perez; children, Bobby Ramirez (Irene Ramirez), Dora Singleterry (Daniel Soto) and Michael Singleterry; seven grandchildren, Skylar, Cassandra, Isiah, Ryan, Kaylan, Zackery, Makayla and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Jose Ramirez; mother, Antonia Ramirez; sister, Tina Chapa and great grandbaby, Emerson Bliss. Consuelo will be remembered for her feisty spirit. If she had something to say she wasn’t afraid to tell you and set you straight. When she was at her best, she loved to share her memories and the amazing stories of her life. Her jokes and laughter filled our hearts with joy. She was an amazing cook and made the best pumpkin bread in the world, but her favorite dessert was chocolate cake. Consuelo had a tremendous love for her family and loved being with them. She believed that family always came first and everything else would fall into place. She was a wonderful loving mother with a heart of gold. Consuelo had a deep love for our good Lord, Jesus Christ, and his blessed mother Mary. She would always remind us to pray and to never stop believing.
