Billy Stone Obituary

Billy Ray Stone passed from this life on October 28, 2023 at the age of 62.  He was the husband of Karen Wallingsford Stone.  They married December 13, 1980 in Lubbock, Texas and shared 42 years together.  A graduate of Texas Tech School of Nursing CNA program, he cared for many while he was employed at Carillion House for over 7 years and Garrison Geriatric Care Center for 13 years.  Billy also worked at the R.A.F. B. mess hall for 16 years as a cook. He had a special love for his brothers and sisters in Christ at Transformation Church where he served as an usher.  Time spent with his family and friends was important to Billy.  He loved holding his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Time spent with his brother was always special. He enjoyed decorating outside for Christmas, fishing, boating, games, and Dr. Pepper.   Billy will be remembered for his smile and laughter. 

Billy is survived by his beloved wife Karen, his brother James Stone (Barbara), his daughter Amy Stone, his grandchildren Kayla Torrez and Bryson Chapa, his great-grandson Taylor Hoffman all of Lubbock, and numerous cousins and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Barbara Stone and his daughter Jennifer Torrez.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
