Valerie Lynette Williams, born on March 29, 1978, in Lubbock, Texas, left this world on March 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by love, resilience, and devotion. Known for her humble spirit and boundless generosity, Valerie was a beacon of unconditional love, whose heart gave endlessly without ever expecting anything in return.
Throughout her life, Valerie faced and overcame many challenges with remarkable strength, yet she remained vibrant and full of life. She lived devotedly for Yahuah, finding strength and purpose in her faith. Valerie’s radiant smile, distinguished by a single dimple, accompanied a warm heart and wise soul, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her. She was, as those who loved her say, "our everything."
Her passions reflected the warmth of her character. Valerie cherished cooking and shopping, simple pleasures she enjoyed immensely. Her delight in spending time with her grandchildren was evident in everything she did, embracing these moments wholeheartedly. She loved blueberry muffins, her favorite pastry, and had a fondness for sloths, which reflected her patient and calm nature. Valerie also enjoyed watching reality TV and crime shows.
Valerie’s proudest accomplishment was becoming a grandmother. The joy she found in having her family gathered around her was profound, and her love for her children and grandchildren was the cornerstone of her life. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Alysha Thomas, Marquis Thomas Jr., and Asia Thomas, and her grandchildren, Symphony and Levi Hunter. Her family circle also includes her sister Veronica James, and her nieces and nephews Alexis Chapman, Darius Brown, Elijah Almanza, Jasmine, JD, and Joshua Vela, Genesis James, and Trystan Anderson.
She was predeceased by her husband, Marquis Thomas, her father Michael DeLeon, her mother Ruth Garcia, her twin sister Vickie Williams, and her sister Michelle Vela.
She was, above all else, the best mom—selfless and devoted. Her legacy is a testament to the power of love, compassion, and faith. Valerie Lynette Williams will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her spirit living on in the hearts of her family and friends. The memories she created and the wisdom she imparted will remain a guiding light for all who had the privilege to know her.
