Teresa Solis Lopez
October 15, 1940 — April 4, 2020
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Teresa Lopez (79) on Saturday, April 4,2020. She was born on October 15, 1940, in Victoria, TX to Carlos Solis and Dolores Ramirez.
She was a wonderful human being with a beautiful soul, who will be remembered for her unconditional love, loyalty, and faith. She enjoyed 61 years of marriage to Ramiro Lopez. They were childhood sweethearts who wed on December 3, 1958, in Lubbock, Texas.
Teresa was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of Our Lady of Grace. As a member there, she found tremendous peace participating in church meditations and retreats for most of her adult life. She was also an avid member of M.A.D.D. Mothers Against Drunk Driving and a career volunteer with Meals on Wheels for over 25 years. Through the years, she received great recognition for her endless efforts volunteering.
Teresa enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, shopping and traveling. She looked forward to spending time with her son and grandsons in Oregon every summer and some holidays.
She is survived by her husband Ramiro Perez Lopez, her sons, Johnny (Janie) Lopez of Lubbock and Efrain Lopez of Portland, Oregon. Grandchildren, Benjamin, Alma, Parker and Cameron and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Lopez.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Teresa's honor to Meals on Wheels. www.lubbockmealsonwheels.org
If you would like to show your love and support, please take part in a silent procession for the Lopez Family. Procession will be gathering in the Guajardo Funeral Home parking lot and depart at 2pm Thursday April 9, to drive by the Lopez home, after which you will be free to go. For everyone’s safety, please be advised to obey all traffic laws, as we will not have police escorts.
