Tamika Shawnti Nance

Tamika Shawnti Nance, 43, passed away on November 12, 2020 at UMC in Lubbock, TX. She was the partner of Herb Wright and shared 3 years together.

She was born July 12, 1977 in Portales, New Mexico to Homer Ashley and Paula Nance Ashley.

She graduated from Albert Sydney Johnston High School in 1996 and from Eastern New Mexico University with a bachelor's degree in Human Services in 2008.

She worked as a social worker until she became disabled. She was a member of Kingdom Life Fellowship.

She enjoyed reading, writing, bible study, watching movies and tv shows, going on trips with her family and friends, doing hair, and making people laugh.

She will be remembered for her smile, her humor, her love for others, for being easy to talk to and being very forgiving, her beauty, her strength, and for being an amazing mother of three children.

She is survived by Marquel Nance, Adam Foraker, Heaven Foraker, Herb Wright, Paula Nance Ashley, Homer Ashley, Nicole Harris, Dominique Harris, and Ashlinn Sykes.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Hanslee Nance, her grandmother Lucy Palmer, and her aunt Dorothy Nance.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, 407 N. University Ave with Romeyo Kirven officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, November 20, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Burial will be at Lubbock City Cemetery, 2011 E 31st Street Lubbock, TX following the funeral.
