Sylvia (Mendez) Guzman

Sylvia Ann Guzman "Mama Goose" passed from this life on May 14, 2024 at the age of 61. She was born November 26, 1962 in Amherst, Texas to Sylvia and Domingo Mendez. Sylvia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and cared for many people as an LVN and Hospice nurse for many years. She loved animals, especially her dogs. Those little creatures had a special place in her heart. Not everyone could keep up and maintain plants the way she did. She definitely had a green thumb! She enjoyed being outdoors and football season. Don't bring up the Cowboys, her team was the 49ers! (If you know, you know) She will be remembered for being loving and generous. She would get on you, but only because she loved you. She was strong and overcame many obstacles throughout her life. Her sense of humor and free spirit will be missed. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and always wanted the best for them. Those who knew her loved her dearly.
Sylvia is survived by her children Jerry Guzman, his wife Monica, Joshua Guzman, and Mona Guzman; her grandchildren Xavier Guzman, Jakoby Saenz, Juanita Lexxi Pina, Kayden Pierson, Kayden Flores, and Sylvia Flores; her mother Sylvia Mendez; her sisters Gloria Del Hierro and Susie Soto, and her brothers Adam Mendez and Joe Angel Mendez. She is preceded in death by her father Domingo Mendez, her brother Ernesto Mendez, her grandparents Pedro and Juanita Vasquez, and her aunt Olga Vasquez.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. led by Gabriel P-nut Martinez.
