Sylvia Arvizu

May 4, 1950 — September 20, 2025

Sylvia Arvizu, a cherished member of her family and community, was born on May 4, 1950, in Elgin, Texas. She departed peacefully in her own home on September 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.

For over 30 years, Sylvia dedicated herself to her career at Methodist Hospital, where her compassionate nature and commitment to her work were evident. During this time she shared 30 years of marriage with Raul Arvizu. Upon retirement, she embraced her role as a devoted housewife and stay-at-home mom, focusing her energy and affection on her beloved family, whom she treasured dearly.

Sylvia was not only committed to her family but also to her faith. She was a proud crusoista at San Jose Catholic Church and actively participated as a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, reflecting her deep spiritual conviction and connection to her community.

Her enduring love and dedication will be remembered by her children, Michelle Arvizu and her husband Jose DeLeon, and Jesica Arvizu. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren: Jose-Angel DeLeon, Marivelle DeLeon, Mateo DeLeon, Joaquin DeLeon, and Arraya Lee Trevino. Sylvia is also survived by her two brothers, Jose Trevino of Lubbock and Lorenzo Trevino of Arizona, along with many nieces and nephews who cherished her presence in their lives.

Sylvia's passing is felt deeply by her family and friends, especially considering the loss of her son, Albert Lee Trevino, her grandchild, Baby Arvizu Garcia, and her brothers Ramon Trevino, Joe "Chepo" Trevino, Lupe Trevino, and Pascual Trevino. She also mourned the loss of her sisters Isidra Martinez, Mary Mendez, Toni Cordova, and Corina Montez.

As her family reflects on their memories of Sylvia, they take comfort in her unwavering spirit and the warmth she brought to their lives. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, devotion, and the love she gave so freely. May she rest in peace.

Pallbearers are: Joseph Garcia, Jason Mendez, Dominic Mendez, Israel Flores, Xavier Torres, Jose De Leon.
