Soila Q. Salinas, affectionately known as "Lita," passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 3, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on February 20, 1936, in Austin, Texas, to Felipe and Guadalupe Quintero, Soila lived a long and meaningful life that touched the hearts of those who knew her.
A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Soila enjoyed singing with her husband Juan and attending prayer meetings. Soila was the boss of her family and led her family with love and devotion. Her grandchildren were always first and their parents could not say anything to go against what "Lita" said. She always gave blessings to her family even to her last days. Before passing, she said her goodbyes and gave blessings to her beloved family.
Soila enjoyed traveling and great escapes to the casinos. She loved her birds and dogs and found great entertainment watching her novelas. No one could call or talk to her until after 9:00 p.m. when the novelas were over. Planting trees and plants brought her great joy, and red roses were her favorite. An amazing cook, Soila enjoyed making burritos for her family and to share at work.
Soila is survived by her children, 18 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 40 great-great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-great-grandchildren: Janie Rodriguez and Monica Rodriguez, Sandra and Joseph Aguilar; Tom and Juanita Ybarra; Mike and Toni Ybarra, Mike, Michelle, Christian, AJ and Adriana; Adelina and George Loya, Isaac, Jessica and Abel; Terry Ybarra, Mikie and Estella; Guadalupe Castro, Andy and Mary, George and Gabby, Tito and Kristan; Lucy and Pete Paradez, Pete and Loretta, Priscilla and Daniel Obarra; Secilia and Matt Walsh, Ricky and Courtney, Steven and Maria, Kolten and Nicole.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Juan Ybarra and Moises Salinas, both of whom she honored and remembered with love. Her son, Mike Ybarra, also preceded her in passing, as did her parents. The memories and legacies they built together remain a source of comfort and pride for those surviving her.
