Santiago Sanchez, Sr.

Santiago Sanchez, Sr. passed from this life on January 22, 2022 at the age of 82.  He was born July 1, 1939 in Victoria, TX to Bruno and Elena Sanchez. On March 13, 1965 he married Concepcion “Connie” Sanchez in George West Live Oak County, and they shared 56 years together.  He was a veteran and a retired farmer.  Santiago loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and family all around.  He loved being outdoors, sitting on the patio in his chair with his wife enjoying his chickens and barbeques. He loved his collection of pocket knives and was a cap, flannel shirt, jeans slack kind of man.  He enjoyed spoiling his wife.  He will be remembered for his advice, wisdom, laughter, jokes and always with his cooler and beers.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Concepcion M. Sanchez, his children, Santiago Sanchez, Jr., Audra Ann Sanchez, Jo Ann Sanchez, and Rudy Sanchez, Sr., his 17 grandchildren and his 17 great-great grandchildren.

Santiago is preceded in death by his parents Bruno and Elena Sanchez, his brothers Benito Sanchez, Martin Sanchez, Johnny and Bruno Sanchez, his sister Mary Sanchez, and his grandson Elvis Nathan Sanchez.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 27 from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 7:00.

Funeral service will be held Friday January 28 at 10:00 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with burial to follow in the Petersburg Cemetery.
