Santiago (Jimmy) Saldivar

May 1, 1943 — January 6, 2021

Santiago Saldivar went to his eternal home January 6, 2021 at the age of 77. He was born May 1, 1943 in George West, Texas to Adan Saldivar and Margarita Cuevas. He married Elida Garcia on September 24, 1962 in Quanah, Texas.
Santiago was employed at Shop Rite warehouse as a tow motor driver for 25 years and as an employee of Marriot for 10 years. He was educated in the word of the Lord and was member of Church of Christ in Petersburg, Texas. He enjoyed studying the Holy Bible, long peaceful walks, and singing hymns. He also enjoyed all sports, baseball, football, and basketball and was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan. Santiago was a good man and will be remembered for leading others by example.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Elida Saldivar; his daughter Seferina Saldivar; his three sons Esteban Saldivar, Rudy (Rebecca) Saldivar, and Eziquel (Yolanda) Saldivar all of Lubbock, Texas; five brothers Ustaquio (Manuela) Saldivar of Hollis, Oklahoma, Adan Saldivar, Jr. of Reynosa, Mexico, David (Olga) Saldivar of Mathis, Texas, Manuel (Norma) Saldivar of Mathis, Texas, Samuel Saldivar of Tucson, Arizona; his two sisters Herminia Flores of Mathis, Texas, and Maria Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Santiago is preceded in death by his father Adan Saldivar and his mother Margarita Cuevas Saldivar of Mathis, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with burial to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
