Sandy G. Hernandez

Sandy G. Hernandez was born in Lubbock, TX on October 15, 1935 to Gregorio Garcia, Sr. and Lucia Carmona who preceded her in death. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 7, 2019 at the age of 84 years. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of more than eleven years, Max Hernandez; son, Carlos Hernandez; great granddaughter Crystal Mendoza; three sisters, Angie Mojica, Bonnie Cruz and Rebecca Sifuentes; and one brother, Eliseo “Cheo” Garcia. Sandy is survived by her children; Joe Hernandez, Robert Hernandez (Teresa), Patricia Hernandez Escobedo (Fernando Jr.) and Yvette Hernandez Medina (Beto); daughter-in-law, Anita Hernandez; 17 grandchildren; Diana Hernandez (Luis), Monica Hernandez, Sylvia Hernandez, Rogelio Pena Jr., Andrea Pena, Corina Hernandez, Dora Mendoza, Andrew Mendoza (JoAnn), Charles Hernandez Jr. (Amanda), Max Hernandez (Brandy), Nikki Hernandez Estrada (AP), Robert Hernandez, Karlisa Nicole Escobedo, Fernando Escobedo III, Krystina Ortiz, Zackery Ortiz and Alondra Medina; 26 great grandchildren; Adrianna, Alise, Kamrynn, Karyssa, Kevin Jr., Xavier, Arius, Natalie, Jesse, Destiny, Alazay, Analea, Mari, Gianna, Aavian, Jaelyn, Maximus, Nathaniel, Jeremiah, Nehemiah, Krisslynn, Carlos, Callie, Zaiden and Zariah; brother, Gregorio Garcia Jr. (Odilia); sister-in-law, Brigida Garcia; and by numerous nieces and nephews that she loved like her own. Sandy loved cooking, gambling, crocheting and traveling. She also owned her own restaurant for eight years with the best food in town! Visitation will be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on Thursday, November 14 from 9am-9pm, and again on Friday, November 15 from 9am-9pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 16 beginning at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery.
