Ruben Najera

Ruben "Punn" Najera passed from this life on April 10, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family and many devoted friends. In his passing, Ruben leaves behind a legacy filled with laughter and many wonderful memories.

Ruben was born on February 13, 1987 in Lubbock, Texas, to Ruben Najera and Emily Piseno. Ruben attended Lubbock and Idalou schools and later earned his GED. His family members affectionately called him Lil' Ruben, but when he was a teen, his sister, Jennifer nicknamed him "Punn" and the nickname stuck. It was amazing to hear stories told by his friends who did not actually know Punn's given name.

Punn enjoyed spending time with his family and many, many friends. He often babysat his nephews and nieces and they adored him. Punn will be remembered for his sense of humor which often had everyone rolling with laughter. He had many stories to tell and often had all listening intently as they waited for the punchline as they knew it would be uproarious. His sense of humor was unmatched and truly a gift he shared with everyone.

Punn was a lifelong, devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and rarely missed a game cheering them on with his close friends and family. His Green Bay Packer memorabilia will be cherished by his family and friends.

Punn is survived by his parents, Ruben Najera and Emily Piseno; sister Jennifer Piseno; brother Mike Pena; nieces Mercedes Garcia and Juelz Olivo; nephew, Michael Garcia; several great nieces and nephews, multiple aunts and uncles, dozens of cousins and many special friends.

Punn is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Librado and Micaela Najera; his maternal grandfather Emilio Piseno; uncle Jose Luis Najera and cousin L. Adrian Rey.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 3 pm to 9 pm at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Friends and family are invited to come together to share stories and memories in his honor.

Punn truly brought joy to everyone around him and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Punn's memory will be treasured.
