Rosario Florez

Rosario Florez peacefully passed from this life on December 10, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born September 26, 1939 in Lubbock, TX to Maria Florez. He married Esperanza Florez on July 22, 1961, and they shared 48 years together. Rosario was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing pool, watching baseball, and had a large collection of baseball hats. He will be remembered for his straightforward personality and his amazing caliente chile and menudo. Rosario loved his family immensely and enjoyed spending time with them more than anything.
Rosario is survived by his children Sonny Florez, Jr. and Cindy Florez (Joe); his 8 grandchildren Ricky Florez, Jr., Bobby Florez, Sonny Florez III, Stephanie Carranco, Eric Florez, Justin Flores, Ebony Flores, Bela Flores; 14 great-grandchildren Jazzy Florez, Ricky Jr. Florez III, Jordan "Bobby" Florez, Brooklyn Florez, Ezra Florez, Leah Florez, Levi Florez, Mileva Castro, Mason Carranco, Marek Carranco, Eric Jr. Florez, Penelope Flores, Justin Jr. Flores, Ezra Miguel Flores; and one great-great-grandchild Jianna.He is preceded in death by: his wife, Esperanza Florez; his son, Ricky Florez; his sisters, Geneva Gonzales and Lydia Prado; and a brother, Julian Rios.
Visitation will be held from 3:00pm- 9:00pm on Thursday, December 15th, 2022 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, and from 9:00am-9:00pm on Friday, December 16th, 2022 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow.
