Rosa Linda (Montanez) Gauna

RosaLinda Gauna passed from this life on April 2, 2022 at the age of 64.  She was born October 6, 1957 in El Paso, TX to Mr. and Mrs. Augustine Montanez.  She married Rocky Gauna on August 25, 2018 and they shared three years together.  She attended McWhorter Elementary, Matthews Jr. High, and Lubbock High School.  She was a housewife and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.  Rosa was a beautiful God-fearing woman.  She loved her huge family and showed her love with affection and prayers.  Her smile would light up any room she was in, as well as put a smile on the faces of others.  She was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Celtics, and Texas Tech.  She loved joking and laughing.  She enjoyed fresh chili dogs and fries from Wienerschnitzel.  The chili dog had to be loosely wrapped and no salt on the fries.  Everyone in the family would go to her for prayer and advice.  She will be missed very much.

Rosa is survived by her husband Rocky Gauna; her son Adam Alafa; her daughter Merina Gauna; her grandsons Joe Alafa, Tanner Wilson, Jordan Medrano, Isaiah Medrano, and Cristiano Herrera; her granddaughters Ivy Alafa, Naomi, Alafa, Faith Medrano, and Hailey Wilson; four sisters, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her oldest son Joe Alafa on March 10, 2018. Her oldest daughter Bridgette Gauna passed away on April 3, 2022.

Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-9:00pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00pm. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Internment will follow at Peaceful Garden Cemetery.
