A beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and friend, Rojelio Lara, Sr. left this world unexpectedly, on June 4, 2021. Born in Lubbock, TX on November 8, 1961 to Timoteo and Paula Lara, Rojelio grew up in Lubbock and attended Lubbock High. He was a great athlete.
Survivors include his daughter, Alexandra Sue Trevino and son Rojelio Lara Jr; parents Timoteo and Paula Lara; two sisters Rosey A. Lara (Eddie Gonzalez) and Jane Lara Cruz; a brother Steve A. Lara and sister-in-law Olga L. Lara. He also leaves behind nieces Anna Cruz, Abbie Lara, Leticia Cooper (Drew Cooper); nephew Vincent Cruz, Shawn Reys (Cindy); six great nieces and nephews Andrew, Matthew, Zachariah, Aubrey, Daesa, and Zahdia; seven grandchildren Deaven, Liliana, Tony, Selyna, Dominic, Aracely, and Fabian.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Juan Ignacio and Rosa Arocha, Guadalupe and Margarita Lara, as well as his two siblings, Jose Luis (Joe) and David Lara.
When you think of Rojelio, celebrate the good memories you have of him. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
Visitation services will be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on Sunday, June 13 from 3:00 to 9:00 PM with the Holy Rosary prayer at 7:00 that evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Grace on Monday, June 14 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
