Rogelio Roy Aguilar, a beloved son, brother, father, and uncle, was born on November 25, 1967, in San Antonio, Texas. He peacefully passed away on February 11, 2026. Roy was a graduate of Lubbock High School and built a life filled with love, laughter, and creativity. Throughout his existence, he showcased a spirit that resonated warmth and kindness, lighting up the rooms he entered with his loud voice and infectious enthusiasm.
With a heart as big as his personality, Roy was known for random dancing and singing. He had a unique ability to bring his family together, always showing up for them with unwavering support. His proudest accomplishments included his treasured 1971 Monte Carlo, for which he had a deep affection, and the recognition he received at UMC for his hard work. Moreover, he cherished his role as a loving father to his daughters Allison and Lori, and his sons Nathaniel, Robby, Johnathan, and Steven. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to Mathias, Adaleah, Giovanni, Divina, Adonis, and baby Aguilar, whose lives he enriched with his vibrant spirit.
Roy enjoyed many hobbies that highlighted his creative flair and devotion to family. He loved decorating for Halloween and Christmas, organizing family get-togethers, and indulging in karaoke sessions. A gifted artist, he had a passion for painting cars and engaging in any artistic endeavor. Music played a significant role in his life; he often played Michael Jackson's albums on repeat. Family vacations to destinations like San Antonio and San Juan were cherished moments where memories were forged, particularly when he delighted his loved ones by making "teardrops" on the grill.
Amongst his living family members, Roy is survived by his devoted mother, Alicia Aguilar, and his close-knit siblings: Eric, Tommy, Ricky, Joseph, Chris, Sylvia, and Laura Aguilar. He also leaves behind his sons-in-law Ryan Martinez and Alexsander Subia, each of whom he valued deeply. His legacy will continue through the love and laughter he shared with his family, all of whom will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
He will be lovingly remembered by his family not only for his tenacious spirit in the face of life's challenges but also for his faith in God. Roy was a true fighter who worked diligently for everything his family had, taking immense pride in all that he achieved. His passions extended beyond family — he had an insatiable love for sweet tea and millionaire pies.
Roy’s presence on this earth has ended, but his spirit will endure in the countless memories and the impact he made on those around him. Though he is preceded in death by his father, Juan C. Aguilar, and brother Juan Aguilar Jr., his legacy will carry on through the love of his family, the echoes of his laughter, and the rhythm of his favorite songs.
