Robert Earl Brown, born on October 17, 1938, in Pocatello, Idaho, passed away on October 22, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy marked his dedication to work and the joy he brought to those around him during 87 years of life.
For 23 years, served as a General Mechanic at Alco in Portland, where he was known for his exceptional skills and strong work ethic. His contributions to the company and the community were significant, and he was respected by colleagues and friends alike.
Robert dedicated six years to serving in the Army, an experience that shaped his character and instilled a sense of duty and commitment. He was a pleasure to be around, radiating positivity and embracing life with a hopeful attitude.
In addition to his career and military service, Robert had a wide range of interests. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and sharing meals with family and friends, which brought him great happiness.
He is survived by his brothers, Burn Brown and George Portis; his son, Bennie Sapp; his grandchildren, Christie Sapp, Jerome Sapp, and Preston Sapp; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Cordia Elizabeth Portis; his father, Lee Roy Taylor; his brothers, Don Portis, Charles Portis, and Larry Portis; and his sisters, Jo Ella Brown and Marilyn Sue Portis Green.
Robert Earl Brown's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, cherished by family and friends for his warmth, laughter, and the kindness he shared throughout his life.
