Rebecca V (Villarreal) Hernandez

Rebecca V. Hernandez, 82, passed away on April 30, 2020 in Lubbock, TX. She was the wife of Rafael Cantu Hernandez. She was born on March 22, 1938 in Alice, TX to Manuel and Francisca Villarreal. She was a retired caregiver, and a member of the Lubbock Dream Center. She enjoyed attending Lubbock Senior Activity Center, Crocheting, making people laugh, cheering on the Texas Rangers and spending time with family and friend Ishmael Arroyo. She will be remembered for the love she had for God. She is survived by her children; Gloria Thompson (Don) of Ft. Worth, TX, Ralph Hernandez (Zebbe Dee), Saul Hernandez, Isaac Hernandez, Frances Hernandez-Garcia (Vincent), Patricia Ann Hernandez, Angelita H. Sustaita (Richard) and Delma V. Hernandez; brother, Johnny Villarreal (Gloria); and sister, Rachel Roberts, all of Lubbock TX; 21 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Rafael Cantu Hernandez Sr; one son, Jose Luis Hernandez; parents Manuel and Francisca Villarreal; two brothers, two sisters; grandson, Ishmael Saul Hernandez and two other grandchildren. Private family services will be held with the Reverend Josh Ramirez presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Lubbock Dream Center, 1111 30th St., Lubbock, TX 79411.
