Rebecca Enriquez

Rebecca Galindo Enriquez, age 78, passed from this life on June 16, 2023, at home. She was the wife of Benito Enriquez, Sr. They were married September 24, 1963, in Mercedes, Texas and shared 59 years together.

She was born December 17, 1944, in Floresville, Texas to David and Leonor Galindo. She only attended elementary school due to her parents being migrant workers. She was a homemaker and babysat several children for years in her home.

She was a member of the Living Water Spanish Church of God for 41 years and served as the church secretary/treasurer for over 30 years.

She enjoyed embroidering and quilting. She made each one of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren their own quilt.

She will be remembered for her love of traveling and going back to her beloved hometown of Poth, Texas.

Left to cherish Rebecca's memory are her husband, her children, David and Miriam Enriquez; Irene and Jesse Sanchez; Benito Jr., and Kathy Enriquez; and Minnie Escobar; her 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Arturo, Elisa, Ester and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels at 407 N. University Avenue, Lubbock, Texas. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery, 15602 TX 493-Loop, Lubbock, Texas.
