Petra Valadez

Petra Gonzalez Valadez passed from this life on November 13, 2022 at the age of 96. She was born December 4, 1925 in Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico to the late Felipe and Benita Gonzalez. On October 12, 1952 in Dr. Gonzalez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, she married her beloved husband Guadalupe Valadez. They shared almost 67 years of life together before he preceded her in death. Petra was a devoted housewife, full time mother, and friend to many. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where she served as Guadalupana for many years. She was also a Minister of Communion and taught meditation classes for several years.
Petra is survived by her daughters Irma Valadez Garcia (Mario), Ime Valadez, Norma Valadez Trevino (Jerry), her son Guadalupe Valadez, Jr. all of Lubbock, TX, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Lupe, her parents, and her siblings.
Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-9:00pm on Wednesday, November 16 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Rosary will begin at 7:00pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, November 17 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
