Olivia Hernandez

Olivia Herrera Hernandez passed from this life November 5, 2021, at the age of 87. She was born January 21, 1934, in San Juan, TX to Ignacio, Sr. and Julia Herrera. In 1950, she married Luis Hernandez in San Juan, Texas and they shared 64 years together. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where she served as a Guadalupana and volunteered for five years at Catholic Family Services. She enjoyed gardening, going out to eat, spending time with her grandchildren and watching Caso Cerrado. She will be remembered for her love, her generosity in helping others, and her homemade tortillas and beans.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Maria Caballero, Norma Hernandez (Jimmy), Jose Hernandez, David Hernandez, and Diana Hernandez; her 8 grandchildren, Adam Castro, Bianca Hernandez, Jeremy Soliz, Christopher Hernandez, Mark Hernandez, Bobby Hernandez, Michael Hernandez, and Hope Moreno; and her 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ignacio Senior Herrera and Julia Herrera, her husband Luis Hernandez, her sons Armando and Joel Hernandez, her brother Alfredo Herrera, and her grandson Paul Castro.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 9 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary Prayer at 7:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
