Moises Rojas Lara passed from this life peacefully from his home on January 15, 2024 at the age of 85. He was born September 4, 1938 in Matahuala San Luiso Potosi to Juan and Felicitas Lara. On September 1, 1962 he married Gumesinda Rodriguez Lara at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. They shared 48 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on June 18, 2011. He was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. Moises was a farmer from sun up to sun down and even picked cotton by hand when he was young. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed raising chickens and roosters and planting trees and roses. Family time was very special to him. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and barbecuing at Buffalo Lake. Moises will be remembered as a strong, kind, and generous man. He was always willing to help anyone in need and was always there for his family. He was a good artist, a woodcarver, and a builder of various items.
Moises is survived by his son Jose R. Lara and his wife Beatrice, three grandchildren Lorenzo, Christian, and Marina and one great-grandchild Elijah. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Gumesinda, his parents, his two daughters Andrea and Angelica Lara, his two brothers Cipriano and Fidel Lara, and three sisters Maria Hernandez, Matiana Rodriguez, and Socorro Cuellar.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 19 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 6:00.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with Father Ernesto Lopez officiating.
Interment will follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery.
