Michael David Jones

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Michael David Jones.

Michael, 34, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on April 1, 2026. He was born on March 12, 1992, in Lubbock to Yul and Aurora Jones.

Michael found happiness in the simple things, but he lived life with a vibrant, creative spirit that touched everyone around him. He was the undisputed life of the party, possessing a magnetic charm and a mischievous grin that made it nearly impossible to ever tell him "no." Whether he was simply playing music, creating art, talking about sports, his energy was infectious.

Yet, beneath his outgoing nature lay a soul of deep empathy. Michael felt for others truly and purely; he possessed a heart that was as big as his personality. You could often find him kicking it with his friends, or hanging out with his family, bringing the kind of laughter and joy that only a "kid at heart" can provide.

The relationship between Mike and his father was a cornerstone of our family. While the void they leave behind is immense, the one thought that brings us any solace is that they are no longer apart. Knowing they have each other, wherever they are, makes this goodbye just a little easier to bear.

He is survived by his mother, Aurora Jones; his sisters, Marisa Jones and Kami Paris; his niece, Chandler Harkey; and his nephew, Christian Mayo. He also held a special place in his heart for all of his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Yul Jones; his brother Trey Jones; his uncle Robert Sample; and his grandparents David and Margarita Berumen, and Kioko Sample.

Mike will be deeply missed, but his charm, his heart, his mamba mentality and the beautiful memories he created will stay with us forever.
