Mercides Alonzo Gonzales

Our loving mother, grandmother, Mercedes Gonzales, 44, went to be with our heavenly Lord on June 13, 2019. Mercedes was born in Lubbock to Juaquin and Beverly Alonzo on March 21, 1975. Mercedes was married to the love of her life James Joel Gonzales on September 5, 1992. They spent 26 happy years together. She was a housewife, and she loved being around her kids and grandkids. She loved going to the sand dunes and getting her hair and nails done. Mercedes enjoyed having drinks with her family as they gathered for the holidays. Survivors include her one loving son: James and wife Marisol; loving daughters: Jaslynn and husband Josef, and Anesha; daughter-in-law: Cheyenne and husband Alfreydo; nine grandchildren: Neriah, Praylenn, James, Westlyn, Avianna, Anahi, Na’Leigha, Daniel and baby Aguero; her loving mother: Beverly Alonzo; brother: Greg and wife Melissa; three sisters: Victoria and husband John, Christina and Desarae; mother and father-in-law: Guadalupe and Barbara Gonzales; and extended family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband: James; father: Juaquin; grandson: Adrian; and grandmother of Adrian Luz Maria. Services will be provided by Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Visitation will begin Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Guajardo Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with internment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
