Mauro Padron Olguin

Mauro Padron Olguin, born on January 28, 1951, in Cuidad Fernandez, San Luis Potosi, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026. Mauro’s life was marked by humility, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family, his work, and his faith.

At the age of seventeen, Mauro made a bold journey to the United States in the 1970s, accompanied by his cousin Matias. The stories of their travels were cherished in family lore, painting a portrait of youthful determination and resilience. This brave beginning laid the groundwork for the values Mauro carried with him—hard work, commitment, and a spirit of adventure.

Throughout his life, Mauro dedicated himself to the craft of masonry. He was well known among builders in his community, earning a reputation for honesty, diligence, and mastery of his trade.

In December of 1974, he married Mary Alice Olguin, embarking on a lifelong partnership built on love and mutual support. Together they raised a family that brought Mauro pride and joy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Alice; their cherished children, Priscilla Olguin, Mauro Olguin Jr., Alfredo Olguin, and Erica Olguin; and his adored mother, Carmen Padron.

Mauro’s influence extended through generations. He was the proud grandfather of Brandon Olguin, Angel Olguin, Juan Benavides III, Adan Benavides, Analyce Olguin-Benavides, Bianca Olguin, Sebastian Tristan, and Victor Tristan and great-grandfather to Treyton Benavides, Camiyla Benavides, and Tryston Benavides. Mauro’s family tree also branches to include 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews, who remain to cherish his memory.

Family was central to Mauro’s life, and gatherings were infused with music and laughter. A musician at heart, Mauro was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he played the vihuela and sang with the choir during Mass. Whether with his guitar at home or his vihuela at church, music was Mauro’s way of bringing people together and expressing his joyous spirit.

Those who knew Mauro remember him as humble and hardworking, always present for his children and family. He was supportive and kind, instilling values of generosity and dedication in those around him.
