Mario Gutierrez Jr., a man whose vibrant spirit and steadfast dedication touched the lives of many, passed away on April 16, 2026. Born on January 12, 1956, Mario’s journey from his early years through a life marked by hard work, determination, and a deep love for family and community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A proud graduate of Estacado High School, Class of 1975, Mario was a committed member of the R.O.T.C. program during his time there, an early testament to his strong work ethic and headstrong nature. He carried these traits throughout his life, standing out not only for his resolve but for a personality that was refreshingly obscure and uniquely his own.

Mario was well known for his expressive storytelling and his boisterous laughter, qualities that brought joy and light to many gatherings. Those who shared time with him will recall his intense attention to detail and his spirited competitiveness. A lover of movies and good food, Mario’s interests helped him connect with others and enriched his life.

Mario was a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and he proudly served within the Knights of Columbus Council 15876. As a 4th Degree Knight in the Bishop Fitzsimmons Assembly 1101, he demonstrated a deep commitment to service and brotherhood, values that shaped his character and guided his actions.

Mario is survived by his loving mother, Pauline P. Gutierrez; his devoted wife, Salome Gutierrez; his sons, Feliz Gutierrez and Adam A. Gutierrez; and his daughter, Yvette M. Gutierrez. He also leaves behind cherished siblings, Linda M. Gutierrez, Irma Gutierrez, and Eduardo Gutierrez, as well as beloved grandchildren, Alex, Addison, Analysa, and Amadeus. His father, Mario F. Gutierrez, Sr., preceded him in death.

The legacy Mario leaves behind is one of dedication, love, and a life well-lived. His family, friends, and all who knew him will remember the indelible mark he made through his unwavering spirit and his many accomplishments.

In reflecting on Mario Gutierrez Jr.’s life, it is evident that his proudest accomplishment was the legacy he crafted—rooted firmly in love for his family, faith, and community. His memory will forever be cherished, and his spirit endures in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
