Marina Gomez

Marina Ortiz Gomez, 84, a proud and loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother passed peacefully on  February 04, 2022. The viewing will be held on Friday,  February 18 from 3pm-7pm following a Rosary at 7pm at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Mass will be held on Saturday, February 19 at 1pm at Our Lady Grace Catholic Church following a burial at Wolfforth Cemetery, Wolfforth, Texas. Pallbearers: Manuel Gomez III, Andrew Gomez, Sergio Torres, Armando Torres, Eric Olivarez, and Chris Ortiz.

Marina Ortiz Gomez was born in Knippa, Texas, on April 16, 1937. She was a homemaker most of her life, worked at IBM on the assembly line for 3 years. She enjoyed helping Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church by being a Guadalupana and attending mass everyday. She dedicated her life to her husband, family and to the Lord.

Marina is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Trevino Gomez, her son Manuel Gomez Jr,  parents, Francisco and Josefa Ortiz, brothers and sisters: Victor Ortiz, Juan Ortiz, Ofelia Ortiz Hernandez and surviving husband Frank , Susie Ortiz Olivarez and husband Lalo, Tina Ortiz Torres and husband Pete, and Gilbert Ortiz and wife Linda.

She is survived by her two daughters: Sylvia Gomez and Sonia Gomez Emerson and husband Brandon and son Johnny Gomez and wife Cindy, brothers Ray Ortiz and wife Abbie, Joe Ortiz and wife Lupe, and sister Mary Ortiz Villarreal and husband Bill. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, godchildren and many friends.
