Services for Maria Elvira Martinez de Hernandez age 67 of Petersburg, Texas will be at 2:00 pm Friday October 19, 2018 at Primera Iglesia Baptista in Petersburg.
Interment will be at Petersburg Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Family and friends are invited to the evening prayer service at 7-8pm on Thursday at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
She passed away on October 15, 2018. She was born on March 15, 1951 in Barancos Guadalupe, Mexico to Petronillo and Rita Martinez. She married Israel Hernandez Reyna in 2000.
Elvira loved attending church and singing her praises to the Lord. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, spending time with her grandchildren, and having her morning coffee and conversations with her mother. Everyone that knew Elvira would tell you she was always smiling and was such a giving and caring person.
She's proceeded in death by her father Petronillo Martinez, sister Francis Martinez, nephew Julian Martinez, great granddaughter Kamille Bounds, and great grandbaby Calloway.
Survivors include, Rita Martinez (mother) of Petersburg, Amparo Martinez (sister) of Amarillo, Martin Martinez Sr. (brother) of Petersburg, Jose Luis (brother) of Temple, Jesus Martinez Jr. (son) of Fort Worth, Jaime Martinez (son) of Petersburg, Leticia Martinez (daughter) of Littlefield, Savanna Trevino (daughter) of Petersburg, 14 grandchildren, and 8 great grand children.
