Maria Gonzales

Maria Gonzales passed from this life on March 14, 2023 at the age of 88. She was born February 10, 1935 to Manuel and Ysaura Flores in Edcouch, TX. She married Dolorez Cruz Gonzales in June of 1947 and they shared 54 years together. Maria was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church where she served as a Guadalupana. She had a strong relationship with the Lord and a great amount of knowledge and wisdom she shared with her children and grandchildren. Maria worked as a laundry supervisor a Carillon House for 25 years. Maria loved to cook and spend time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Maria is survived by her children Ramon Gonzales (Mary), Leonard Gonzales (Marcia), Alfredo Gonzales (Tracey), Angelica Carrillo (Noel), Joe Gonzales, Patricia Guerrero, 23 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Dolorez Cruz, her parents Manuel and Ysaura Flores, her son Robert Gonzales, her brother Manuel Flores Jr., her sisters Frances Flores, Cecelia Garcia, and Dionicia Barrera, and her granddaughter Melissa Gonzales.
The family of Maria Gonzales would like to thank the Slaton Care Center and Interim Hospice Care for all the love and tender care they provided.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Slaton, Texas with interment to follow at Englewood Cemetery.
Visitation and the Holy Rosary service will be held Thursday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Slaton.
