Maria G. Flores

Maria Guerra Flores,79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born March 28, 1942, in Rio Grande to Bernabe and Paula Guerra. She married Melquiades Flores, Sr. May 2, 1966, in Lubbock, TX and they shared 55 years together. Maria was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic church. A wonderful homemaker, she enjoyed spending time with her husband and their family. She loved music, shopping, her pan dulce, novellas, and bingo. Maria enjoyed time spent laughing and joking. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and genuinely loved life. She will be remembered for being the backbone of her family and for giving the right advice even when they did not want to hear it. She always gave the best hugs and wrong or right, she always loved.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Melquiades Flores, Sr. and her children Adam Rivera, Johnny Rivera, Alicia Rivera, Melquiades Flores, Jr., Sylvia De Los Santos (Mario), Elena Duran (Arthur) and Armando Flores (Tonia).
Maria is preceded in death by her parents Bernabe and Paula Guerra, her in-laws Amparo and Alberto Flores, Sr., her son Alfredo Garcia and her five brothers.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 19 from 9:00 to 9:00 with special music beginning at 5:30 and the Holy Rosary at 7:00 that evening at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. The mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Tuesday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
