Maria Esparza

Maria M. Esparza passed from this life on September 11, 2024 at the age of 70. She was born April 27, 1954 in Laureles, Texas to Jabiel and Santos Medellin and attended Frenship High School. On April 18, 1987 she married Guadalupe Esparza in Shallowater, Texas and they shared 37 years together.  Maria was an amazing homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking for her family.  She will be remembered for being a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, and aunt.  She was the best babysitter.

Maria is survived by her honey/husband Guadalupe Esparza, her sister Maria Amparo Steadman, her nieces Rosie Salas, Marta Hernandez, Elizabeth Medellin, Teri Medellin, Toni Hayes, and her nephew Daniel Hernandez.  She also has 17 great nieces and nephews and 11 great-great nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Neomi Esquivel, her brother Jabiel Medellin, Jr., and her niece Delores Margaret Medellin.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.

A visitation will be held Monday, September 16 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.
