Maria Lidia Benavides

Maria Lidia Benavides passed from this life on April 10, 2022 at the age of 77. She was born October 20, 1944 in Anton, TX to Lorenzo and Porfiria Gonzales. She married Luis Angel Benavides on June 2, 1964 and they shared 59 years together. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Maria loved her family and enjoyed singing with them, family cookouts, crocheting, and playing bingo. She will be remembered for always putting God first, for being a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Every child that met her loved her and she gave never ending love back to them. She would say, "Always remember, my kids, that I love you always very, very much.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children Aida Perez (Carlos), Luis Angel Benavides, Jr. (Sally), Jose Mario, Lisa Gomez (Edmund), Margie Mendoza (Jose), her ten grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. Maria is preceded in death by her husband Luis Angel Benavides, Sr., her son Albert Benavides, and her parents Lorenzo and Porfiria Gonzales.

Pallbearers are Jose Mario Benavides, Michael Ryan Gomez, Luis Angel Benavides, III, Joshua Andrew Benavides, Jessie Gonzales, David Maciel, Henry Ramirez, and Terry Spears. Honorary pallbearers are Mercedes Raquel Orosco and Albert Benavides, Jr.


Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-9:00pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 and from 9:00am-1:00pm Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 7:00pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
