Margarita Martinez

Margarita "Margie" Martinez, a cherished member of the Lubbock community, passed away on October 22, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on November 29, 1962, in Lubbock, Texas, Margie was the beloved daughter of Juan and Rosa Martinez, both of whom predeceased her.

Margie was known for her vibrant spirit, kind heart, and infectious laughter. She had a profound love for music and dancing, which brought joy to all who knew her. Her playful personality and sense of humor endeared her to many, and she left a lasting impression on everyone she interacted with.

An accomplished individual in her own right, Margie graduated from Cooper School, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with curiosity and creativity. She enjoyed hobbies such as coloring and puzzles, which reflected her artistic nature and love for engaging activities.

Margie's proudest accomplishment was simply being herself, a testament to her character and the love she shared with those around her. She is remembered as a colorful presence in the lives of her family and friends, who loved her dearly.

She is survived by her loving family: Lewis Martinez, Manuela Romo, Mike Martinez, Olivia Martinez, Juan Martinez Jr., Irene Garza, David Martinez, and Cindy Garcia. Her legacy will continue to live on through them, as well as in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have called her a friend.

Margie’s memory will forever be cherished, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A viewing to celebrate Margie's life will be held on October 24, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, located at 407 N University Ave, Lubbock, TX 79415. This will be followed by a graveside service at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, 15602 TX-493 Loop, Woodrow, TX 79423, starting at 1:30 PM.
