Manuel Vasquez, Sr.

Manuel Vasquez, Sr. passed away on August 19, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on March 3, 1938, and lived a life marked by love, hard work, faith, service, and devotion to family.

Manuel proudly served his country in the United States Army from March 8, 1955, to March 7, 1958, an accomplishment that remained a meaningful part of his life. He was also a member of the Class of 1954 at St. Joseph's School in Maumee, Ohio. In his working years, he served as a Texas Tech Ground Maintenance Technician on the sign and striping crew, bringing the same steady work ethic and resilience to his career that defined so much of his life.

He will be remembered as a loving man whose deep kindness, supportive nature, generosity, and hardworking spirit touched those around him. Manuel took special pride in passing down family history, skills, and life lessons, sharing not only his knowledge but also the values that mattered most to him. 

Among the accomplishments he held closest to his heart were serving his country in the Army, marrying his beloved wife, Jineva, and raising his two children, Elena and Manuel Jr. He found joy in camping, gardening, and playing Bingo, and he enjoyed attending church and spending time at the Senior Center. 

Manuel is survived by his son, Manuel Vasquez Jr. He also leaves behind a cherished circle of grandchildren: April Vasquez, Mikey Vasquez, Chris Vasquez, Christina Vasquez, James Vasquez, Mandy Vasquez, and Richard Vasquez; and great-grandchildren Legend Vasquez, Alejandro Vasquez, and Zoie Vasquez. His family was a source of great pride and happiness, and his love for them will remain a lasting part of their lives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jineva Vasquez; his daughter, Elena Vasquez; his mother, Juanita Morin; and his father, Bonnie Vasquez. Their memories remained an important part of his life, and he now rests in their company.

Manuel Vasquez, Sr. leaves behind a legacy of service, faith, music, perseverance, and family love. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
