July 5, 1969 – May 31, 2026

With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Lydia Rios, who left this world at the age of 56.

Born on July 5, 1969, in Fargo, North Dakota, Lilly was the daughter of Josefina Martinez and Prefecto Rios. She lived a life marked by love, laughter, and compassion, with a remarkable gift for finding happiness in every moment. Whether times were joyful or difficult, Lilly always found a way to bring light into the lives of those around her. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and positive spirit could brighten even the darkest days.

Lilly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Some of her favorite memories were made shopping with her daughters, sharing stories, laughter, and creating traditions that will be treasured for years to come. She also enjoyed watching her favorite movies, especially Rocky and Rambo, and found joy in the simple pleasure of spending time with those closest to her.

Those who knew Lilly will remember her kind heart, strength, sense of humor, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. She touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy of joy, resilience, and unwavering care for others.

Lilly is survived by her husband, Jesse Garcia; daughters, Monique Garcia (Roland Herrera Jr.) and Jesselle Garcia; her granddaughter, Charlotte Herrera; and her granddog, Penny. She is also survived by her sisters, Anita McNeal; Daisy Salinas (Frank Salinas); her sister-in-law, Lupe Rios, and many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her friendship and presence.

Lilly was preceded in death by her parents, Josefina Martinez and Prefecto Rios; her brother, Martin Rios Sr.; her brother-in-law, Gary McNeal Sr. ; her niece, Miesha McNeal; and her nephew, Martin Rios Jr.

Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we find comfort in knowing that her love and laughter will continue to live on through all those she touched. The memories she created and the care she shared will remain with us forever.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lilly’s life on Friday, June 5, at Guajardo Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. All services will take place at Guajardo Funeral Home.

A meal and gathering for family and friends will follow the services at the Knights of Columbus, 1619 Erskine Street.

Lilly’s beautiful spirit, unwavering devotion to her family, and joyful heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
