Lala Alonzo

January 14, 1949 — April 25, 2024

Oralia “Lala” Vasquez-Alonzo was born January 14, 1949 and passed from this life on April 25, 2024 at the age of 75.  She was a self-employed seamstress and a member of Christ the King Church.  Lala enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. She loved spending time with her family and cooking her delicious tamales and one of a kind homemade tortillas for them.  She will be remembered for enjoying her life with her grandkids, her love of music and dancing, and cooking for her family.

Oralia is survived by her children Lisa Villegas-Perez (Geno) of Austin, TX, Dee Alonzo of Lubbock, Johnny Alonzo (Liza) of Lubbock, Benjamin Alonzo (Erica) of Forney, TX; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her brothers Natividad “Chuco” Vasquez, Johnny Vasquez, Arturo Vasquez; her sisters Estafana Campos, Julia Lopez, Linda Diaz, and Sophie Rodriguez, and Jamie Duran.  She is preceded in death by her parents Enes, Sr. and Maria Vasquez, three brothers Lupio Vasquez, Freddy Vasquez, and Enes Vasquez, Jr.; two sisters Mary Ann Perez and Elvira Ruiz; and her grandson Zachary Villegas.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 1 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 2 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
