Julia Medina Olguin

September 13, 1925 — March 18, 2020

Julia Olguin passed to eternal life on March 18, 2020, at the age of 94. She was born to Arnurfo and Juaquina Medina on September 13, 1925, in La Junta, Colorado.

Julia was a woman of faith with a generous heart to all who knew her. She enjoyed serving others while she worked at Covenant Lakeside. After retirement, she continued to love and serve her family, and enjoyed taking care of her grandkids. Her hobbies included knitting, cooking, playing Bingo, and she enjoyed music and dancing.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Jose Olguin; her daughter Betty Olguin Cervantes; her son Mario Olguin; her grandson Julian Flores Jr.; her granddaughter Connie Palomo Perez; her two brothers, Benancio and Alfredo Medina;and her three sisters, Erminia Medina, Esperanza Dominguez, and Inez Goytia.

Survivors include her brother Elojio Medina of La Junta, Colorado; her children Bessie (Antonio) Saldana, Linda (Rauel) Garcia; 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 39 great-great grandchildren, and 4 great-great-great grandchildren.

A Rosary service will be prayed at Guajardo Funeral Chapels Sunday, March 22, at 7:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 23, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
