Jovita H. Zamora

Jovita H. Zamora (82) went to be with our Lord on January 22, 2025. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25 at St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church in Shallowater, Texas with Ernesto Lopez officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow. Friends and family are invited to pray the rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24 at St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church.
Jovita was born on February 15, 1942 in Tahoka, Texas to David and Eloisa Hernandez. She married Jose Zamora, Jr. on June 2, 1962 and during this union three children were born, Mike, Jose Isamel, and Sara. Jovita was always a loving person who was loved by everyone who came to know her. One of her greatest passions was her yard. She loved working outside and planting flowers. Her second passion was traveling and being at the casinos. She is loved by her children, her six sisters and four brothers. Jovita is preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents David Sr. and Elosie Hernandez, her sisters Selia Hernandez and Juana Esparza and her brother Paul Hernandez.
Jovita is leaving behind her two sons Mike (Terri) of New Deal, Jose Ismael (Amy) of Lubbock, and Sara (Pete) of Lubbock. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Zamora, Jerry Zamora, Eric Zamora, Joshua Luna, Nickolas Gonzalez, Jesiah Vasquez, and Micheal Anthony Rodriguez.
